I-SWIS Facilitator Certification Training -- In Person

This 20-hour in-person and online hybrid course prepares and certifies participants to provide services and supports as an I-SWIS Facilitator to local schools interested in implementation of the Tier 3 component of SWIS or Individual School-Wide Information System (I-SWIS).

Description

I-SWIS is a web-based decision system that monitors intensive systems and supports.. I-SWIS not only supports the organization and decision making about an individual student but also supports planning and decisions about the broader Tier 3 systems across a campus or program.

Content of the training includes:

  • Overview of PBIS Applications and the SWIS Suite
  • Overview of the I-SWIS (Individual-SWIS) application
  • I-SWIS Student File Set-Up and Data Entry tasks
  • I-SWIS Reporting Features, including the School-Wide Reports
  • Data-Based Decision Making at Tier 3
  • I-SWIS Facilitator Role
  • I-SWIS Readiness & Licensing
  • Training and Supporting I-SWIS Users

Note: Participants who are certified in another application (e.g., SWIS or CICO-SWIS) will receive a 50% discount for the training fee.

Target Audience

Individuals wanting to become I-SWIS facilitators to support local schools in monitoring Tier 3 supports. The role is designed for people who will be training, supporting, and providing technical assistance to multiple schools within a district, region, and/or state.

 

Prerequisites

As part of this certification, participants will be completed independent pre-training and post-training modules.

Pre-training modules will be sent at least 2 weeks prior to the first in-person learning session and will take about 4 hours to complete.

Post-training modules will be due 2 weeks after the last in-person learning session and will take about 4 hours to complete.

As this is a hybrid training, technological skills (e.g., the ability to navigate and use multiple computer applications and/or resources at the same time) are necessary to successfully access the training content and participate in this training.

Note: Full attendance and participation at all instructor-led synchronous learning sessions is required for certification. Please plan your travel schedule accordingly.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the course participants will be prepared to:

  • Lead a school through I-SWIS Readiness and Licensing
  • Train schools on accessing, viewing, and printing reports
  • Train users on setting up and managing student files in I-SWIS
  • Train users on entering I-SWIS data & using the data for decision making
  • Train users on using school settings to manage I-SWIS
  • Have a clear understanding of the role and responsibilities of an I-SWIS facilitator
  • Effectively navigate the I-SWIS application
  • Support 2-5 schools in meeting and maintaining I-SWIS Readiness requirements within 6 months of certification
  • Provide coaching for schools related using I-SWIS for data-based decision making
