SWIS Facilitator Certification Training -- Online

This 21-hour hybrid training prepares and certifies participants to provide services and supports as a SWIS Facilitator to local schools interested in implementation of the School-Wide Information System (SWIS) including installation (e.g., readiness & licensing), user training, team coaching, and ongoing technical assistance with data collection and use of SWIS data for decision making.

Description

SWIS is a web-based decision system that monitors social climate and child behavior by tracking behavior incidents. Not only does SWIS support decision-making through easy access to comprehensive graphs but also provides a structure to improve the consistency and accuracy of staff reporting of behavioral incidents.

Please note that this application and training are separate from EC-SWIS, CICO-SWIS and I-SWIS.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this certification training, participants will be able to:

  • Successfully navigate the SWIS application and support school-level users in account set-up, data entry, and reporting.
  • Describe their role in monitoring school readiness, user training, team coaching, technical assistance, and ongoing maintenance associated with supporting SWIS implementation.
  • Embed the role and responsibilities into job description and time allocation.
  • Support 2-5 schools in meeting and maintaining SWIS readiness requirements and implementation within 6 months of certification.

Prerequisites

For this training you will be asked to complete online modules independently, as well as attend several synchronous, instructor-led virtual meetings.

Note: Attendance at each synchronous session is required for certification.

Several online modules will be required to be completed prior to the synchronous session via Zoom. They will take approximately 8 hours to complete and will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks prior to the first synchronous Zoom session.
