SWIS Equity Reports and the Data Drill Down Process
This webinar will provide participants with a basic understanding of the four SWIS Equity Reports, the metrics we use to measure progress for the various student subgroups, and how we can use the SWIS Data Drill Down tool to investigate disproportionality related to specific student outcomes (e.g., actions taken, students involved in a certain type of behavior, etc.).
Description
This webinar will provide participants with a basic understanding of the four SWIS Equity Reports, the metrics we use to measure progress for the various student subgroups, and how we can use the SWIS Data Drill Down tool to investigate disproportionality related to specific student outcomes (e.g., actions taken, students involved in a certain type of behavior, etc.). After an introduction to the four Equity reports, we will look at how to use the Drill Down tool to find a precise problem statement describing exactly what is going on, who is involved, where and when these behaviors are most likely to occur, and why the behavior continues especially for subgroups with disproportionate outcomes. A more in-depth look at each of the four SWIS Equity Reports is available on-demand at pbisapps.org: Resources: Videos: SWIS.
Note: Special considerations regarding distance learning models will be included.
Learning Objectives
Outcomes of the Webinar
The participants will:
* Gain an understanding of disproportionality and how it affects school discipline.
* Be introduced to the use of the SWIS Equity reports and the SWIS Drill Down tool to investigate disproportionality within their school environment.
* Be introduced to the term “vulnerable decision points” and the effects of implicit bias on disproportionality.
* Be introduced to a four-step problem solving model to help attend to disproportionality when it does occur.
